Inspiration, Madlib & Melvin, Triple C & Ali

When I ride the train to work in the morning I see the same people doing the same things. Either they're reading The New Yorker, Us Weekly, or they're listening to their Ipods. Generally, they're on their way to a job they don't like and are probably thinking about what bill they have to pay. Everyone seems so bored and uninspired. I felt like that today - well I at least did until I checked my email. I realized something I already knew - inspiration is everywhere!
Madlib & Melvin: Last night I was IMing with Taj and he sent me this link. When I checked it out I thought, "why didn't Melvin button his shirt - is homey that faded?" I told Taj, "Melvin is crazy". I am always searching for the funny in whatever I come across, but Taj quickly enlightened me and said, "When I look at that picture I see two men that decided to live life on their own terms and enjoy the moments". I was paraphrasing a tad but that was the sentiment.
Anyway, the two are collaborating on an album together. I can't wait to hear it. I think Earth, Wind, & Fire collaborated with Melvin on the soundtrack for Sweet Sweetback's Badass Song. This is sure to be a classic.
- Space 1026 & Cool Liz: I've only been to Space 1026 once, but the place is insane! Artists working collectively and creating things that will last forever. Cool Liz, as you may already know, designed some cool buttons for us a few months back. My girlfriend is still mad that she only has three. (Hollerate at a dork Liz!) I'm glad to see this article on them [Cold Check it].
- Mekanism/John Maeda: Our amigos at Mekanism are always doing something ill. This is no different. After its collaboration with the artist Invader, French company Mekanism skateboards is giving carte blanche to John Maeda for a limited-edition board. John MAEDA is a world leading figure in the digital creation and its education. Professor at the Massachussets Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab, his goal is to reconcile man with machine by building a bridge between digital programming and aesthetic creation. Mixing with poetry, knowledge and sensitivity, he proves how digital technology combined with a creative sense can give a new burst of enthusiasm to the reading of our society. This board is called "thrrrrrrust", the concept is two thousand little arrows arranged in a collage as a kind of representation of "thrust" as often seen in physics films. The MEKANISM/John MAEDA board is limited to 100 numbered copies. Talk about exclusive! Check it: [Mekanism & Maeda].
- Geology Plays Geology: This could have easily been called The Best of Geology. Soulful beats that have that ole' boom bap. Hearing all of his production blended seamlessly takes you somewhere else - I mean outside of your body. It is that dope! When I hear production like this, it makes me wonder why people belive this style is dated. The ish sounds timeless to me - plus it makes you feel irie. Boo-ya-ka shot! My personal fav is Guilt Junkie featuring Ms. Mojica.
- Ali @ Triple Crown: Don't forget to come out to Triple Crown tonight for Bi-Polar Thursday. Taj already gave you a thorough review of Triple Crown. But I gotta say these dudes are fresh to def. I love to see friends living out their dreams and making a positive contribution. Plus you got 1/4 of ATCQ spinning - you can't lose!
I hope that's enough inspiration for you because that's the longest effing post I've ever wrote.

Once the inevitable MF shark jumpage occurs by the end of the year, do you think Madlib will be next or might he persist unscathed?
