Musings. Just another boy on the IRT

Musings. Just another boy on the IRT: When you've grown up in New York it's hard to romanticize it. All you see is trash, crowds, and chaos. Especially on the train. I've seen the craziest things on trains: people making out, a guy throw up, and lots of other stuff I don't want to remember. Which is sad in a way.

The thing I love about art is that it proves there is beauty everywhere. I mean, we're all told what beauty is and we believe it. But an awesome picture says, "you're wrong, this is beautiful!" And who are we to argue with a talking picture? Okay, I know that didn't make much sense, but check these pics and you'll know what I mean. [Details]

i have to agree. i didn't grow up in nyc, but i was a resident for 2+ years & of that time i was literally on the train everyday of my life. anywho, you see the most amazing, appalling, and yes, beautiful things on the train daily. it made my time in nyc SO memorable, & SO unique, & i miss it everyday I’m forced to fill up my tank & drive around LA, mindless and numb, and in need of some personal space invasion (and yes, a spontaneous performance on the A). thank you for giving me a little slice of what I’ve been missing for the past 2 months. i must admit, i’m homesick & supposedly i’m home.
