Book. Weird Science: The New Evolution

Weird Science | The New Evolution: We all believe that amazing technological advances are on the horizon. Like, if I argue that the internets will take over every aspect of modern life, in about forty years, I doubt people would disagree. Well what if I argued that forty years from now humans and their technology will become one? This phenomenon is what scientist Ray Kurzweil forecasts in his new book "The Singularity Is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology."

Kurzweil foresees human intelligence vastly outstripped by computer intelligence and then wholly merged with that intelligence. All within the next forty years. This merger of genetics, nanotechnology, and robotics will make humans godlike. Kurzweil has an interesting conversation with Tom Ashbrook of Boston's NPR about this topic. Listen for a phone call from international chess champion David Levy! [Details | Website]

You are probably wondering why old Ray is hanging with Stevie. Well, Kurzweil invented the technology for sythesizing the grand piano. Isn't that cool!
