Audio. Maspyke's No Big Deal
Audio. Maspyke's No Big Deal: Dork has been following Maspyke since our time in DC (circa 2001). Their lyrics are refreshing, clear and rooted in relevance. When I was in college (pre-2001) a group of us went to a weekly jawn called Soul Camp in DC. The cats there played classic underground hip hop (before it was a cliché to say any hip hop was underground.) We'd come out at the end of the night totally gassed off of the new music we heard from folks who were clearly passionate about their craft. Well, every time I hear a Maspyke joint, it takes me right back to that feeling.
