Art & Design. Collabro: Subject Matter Gallery is hosting a new artist series entitled Collabro. The installation will feature collaborative art pieces created by over 68 participating artists. Collabro aims to define a moment of the urban art movement, a movement met with evolutionary strides in ideas, composition and aesthetic. In this contemporary art progression, artists are encouraged to break hard-line conventions and instead progress with each other, as evidenced in the cooperative elements of street murals.
For Collabro the artists have joined their separate art forms on shared canvas space, providing exceptional opportunities in what can be called an “ego share.” The Collabro artists have teamed up in groups of two or more to create work captured and connected in one gallery. Participating artists include Greg “Craola” Simkins, Mark Bode, Tristan Eaton, Sylvia Ji, Alex Pardee, Tim McCormick, Kevin Peterson, Shawn Barber, Henry Lewis, Diet, Kurve, Len Croskey, Casey O’Connell, Albert Reyes, Korin Faught, Natalia Fabia and more. The opening reception for Collabro will be held at Subject Matter Gallery at The LAB on May 20th, Saturday night from 7 pm – 11pm.
