Art & Design. Cities in Transition

Art & Design. Cities in Transition: While in New York, Dork stopped by the Cities in Transition exhibit at Madison Square Park. The pictures are striking. They capture what we love about urban settings. There are both positive and negative forces that build the city ecology, but all of them seem to breed inspiration.
The photographs hung high in the park are works by Chuck Close, Mitch Epstein and Dayanita Singh. As they describe, "Cities exist at the intersection of the past, the present and the possibilities of the future. There is an ongoing struggle between development and the environment, among old factories, new highways, and tomorrow's needs, particularly in urban areas such as New York, Boston and Hartford. Cities are at a critical juncture as civic leaders and citizens together seek to answer questions of livability and sustainability so that all can prosper."
