People. Iconoclasts: Dave Chappelle + Maya Angelou

People. Iconoclasts: Dave Chappelle + Maya Angelou: Longtime readers of dork know that we've been having a running conversation about the death of the conversation. It seems like most people are just waiting for the other person to stop talking when they converse. Nobody is listening. Not really. People seem to be too focused on what they can get out of a conversation and what the other person thinks about them.

It's strange to see two people in engage in a serious and sincere conversation. It's the kind of intimacy few can tolerate. Initiators of real conversations are often slapped with the "weirdo who talks too much" label. Although it was taped for television, Dave Chappelle and Maya Angelou had, what seemed to be, a real conversation. They didn't always agree and they talked about things like love, bitterness, anger, the power of words and the danger of making anyone larger than life.
