Film. Fast Food Nation: The burger you had for lunch is contributing to the downfall of all humanity. That is the bold assertion being made in Richard Linklater's Fast Food Nation. The movie is based on the provocative book of the same name, and like the book, it brings attention to the dark side of the fast food industry.
Fast Food Nation traces the birth of an everyday burger through a chain of interlocked human stories - from a hopeful young immigrant couple who cross the border to work in a meat-packing plant, to a teen clerk who dreams of life beyond the counter; to the corporate whiz who is shocked to discover that his latest burger invention - The Big One - is literally full of manure.
