In between bites of a pickle, Rhymefest expressed excitement about his role in the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival show at the Brooklyn Brewery. “I’m happy to be a part of something involving artists of substance.” It’s only right that he’s been included amongst that group. Known for defeating MC’s like Swann and Eminem in freestyle battles, Rhymefest once donned warpaint at a Battle of the Bands competition where he made the final 7 after being the only rap act competing in a field of 200 rock acts. Clearly his performance chops are up to bar.

After speaking with Fest it’s all too clear that he is that intelligent, witty, down to earth voice that has been missing from the scene these days. I’m looking forward to the release of “Blue Collar Poppin”--- and not just because he complimented me on my name.

At the time of our interview Rhymefest was scheduled to perform at the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival June 17th. Unfortunately I was out of town for the event and was not able to see him live, but James and Taj went out and represented for the Dorkmag crew. You can find more information on Rhymefest online.
